PFPeople is a project that was ideated in 2021 and minted on the blockchain in February–April of 2022.
It is a collection of one-of-one digital photographs inspired by the NFT Profile Picture mania.
As a tribute to the phenomenon, each photo has its own traits, some more rare than others.
Each of the 35 traits was styled and photographed physically on the models, trying to maintain the individuality of each person on set.
Because after all, behind the avatar, there’s YOU.
The idea came to my mind in November, and it took me some time to develop it.
I interviewed crypto-natives and researched NFT platforms daily,
in order to create a collection that would be philosophically similar to PFP collections.
The pre-production process included weeks of scouting for models and preparing the location and props.
The shooting day was crazy. I had to fit seven models in a day, with the other two coming in on a different day. Fortunately, everyone was professional, and I am beyond grateful for my supportive team.
This project is so special to me that I decided to choose, edit, and retouch every single photo myself, which photographers don’t usually do. It took me two months of daily work, but looking at the result, I feel like it was worth it.
